Dynamic Balancing
One of the main sources of vibration in rotating electrical machines is the mechanical imbalance of the rotor, which is related to the action of unwanted forces on the machine. Reliability and maintenance departments should be concerned with identifying the presence of any unbalance outside the permissible ranges to prevent premature damage, and thus avoid unscheduled stops with the respective affectations.
When checking the performance and operation of any rotating electrical machine, one of the most important aspects is to make sure that the mechanical imbalance is within a permissible range of operation. This will be reflected in the vibratory state of the machine. Thus, by performing a vibration analysis, it is possible to determine whether the root cause is an imbalance and what measures are necessary to correct this situation.
- In ISS RD, SRL we have certified inspectors of rotary equipment who are experts in dynamic balancing with a vast knowledge of the application of the technique in different applications in the mining, energy, oil, cement, sugar, food, water and other sectors. We use equipment such as the Emerson CSI 2130, software and data loggers.
