Leak test

Tank floors need to be evaluated using the vacuum box technique which allows the determination of leaks in steel plates, welds and joints. ISS RD, SRL performs these leakage tests using its straight and cornered vacuum boxes.

Our vacuum boxes are designed with operators and API 650/653 inspection standards in mind. Bubble leak testing (or vacuum box) is an integral part of tank inspections as required by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and other international standards associations to establish the condition of tank bottom plate welds and base plate welds. They are designed to inspect long 750 mm (29.5 in) welds and corner welds with an extremely rugged body, calibrated vacuum indicator and vacuum relief valve, internal LEDs to ensure proper visibility throughout the test weld and a new seal designed to maximize efficiency and reduce operator fatigue.
