Vibration Analysis

Vibration analysis is the main technique for monitoring and diagnosing rotating machinery and implementing a predictive maintenance plan.

Vibration analysis has been applied effectively for more than 30 years to the monitoring and diagnosis of mechanical faults in rotating machines. Initially, analogue equipment was used for broadband vibration measurement, which made reliable diagnosis of bearing and gear failure impossible.

The information that can be provided by vibration analysis in the form of monitoring parameters and diagnostic graphs. Vibration analysis applied to rotating machinery can be used to accurately diagnose vibration problems:

  • Imbalance
  • Misalignment
  • Clearances
  • Rocks
  • Bent axles
  • Eccentric pulleys
  • Bearings
  • Gears
  • Power failures

At ISS RD, SRL we do not specialize in vibration monitoring and analysis in industrial plant equipment such as:

  • Steam and gas turbines
  • Centrifugal Pumps
  • Fans
  • Electric motors
  • Rotary, screw and reciprocating compressors
  • Agitators and mixers
  • Mills and rotary kilns
  • Centrifugal gearboxes
  • Cooling towers
  • Diesel engines and generators

In ISS RD, SRL we have certified inspectors of rotary equipment who are experts in vibration analysis with a vast knowledge of the application of the technique in different applications in the mining, energy, oil, cement, sugar, food, water and other sectors. We use equipment such as the Emerson CSI 2130, vibration analysis software and data loggers.
