Welding Procedures
The Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) is a document that provides guidelines for welding based on the requirements of the specifications designated by the Engineering Department of a project, and also provides the necessary information to guide the welder or welding operator and ensure compliance with those requirements. Reproducing the welding variables of a field welding specification ensures the mechanical integrity of the joint designed for the specified purpose.
In ISS RD, SRL we have certified inspectors who are experts in the development of welding procedures following the flow charts and requirements of the American Welding Society (AWS) and applicable standards such as:
- ASME SECTION IX.
- ASME 31.1
- ASME 31.3
- AWS D1.1
- API 1104
Within the specialized services in all types of welding in carbon steel, stainless steel, and special alloy materials are found:
- Development of welding procedures (WPS)
- Procedure Qualification Document (PQR) Development
- Destructive mechanical testing (stress, bending, impact and/or hardness)
- Welders' Qualification (WPQ)
- Welding Process Attestation
- Visual inspection of specimens and volumetric tests
- Data evaluation and certification of procedures
- Theoretical and technical training on site
